fun thoughts that connect

I was searching around the internets in a somewhat obbsessive manner for interviews with Daniel Pinchbeck. I found the interview on pop occulture. (We could talk about that for a long time -- later, I promise!) Then I found a site with with Daniel Pinchbeck mentioning David Bohm's holographic universe.
Um -- I was just noticing recently how something about both Bohm and Pinchbeck's work and writing really excites me. Yes! That'll be fun to investigate more I'm sure. You'll see!
Is it the visionary spirit I feel coming through their work that excites me? Or that they are speaking from their heart experience? Or is it something specific that ties their work together? Possibly that both Bohm and Pinchbeck encourage us to not accept their or even our own ideas, but to go beyond them? And much more...
"Real knowledge of what I am saying must be earned, and lived, by each individual in his or her own way."
2012 The Return of Quetzalcoatl, p. 15
Did Bohm integrate mythic and other levels of consciousness into his post scientific, rational thinking mind and way of being? Did his ability to entertain a degree of uncertainty separate him to such an extent from the majority of the scientific community that they simply did not understand, didnt get it, or didnt feel him? Does the fact that I have been born in this particular point in space and time somehow help perfectly prepare me for "getting" what Bohm was saying and working towards? Is that why I love dialogue so much? And, are we at a point in time, in history, where we have the chance to midwife a level of consciousness into collective being? And can we literally relax and be empowered because of the self-organizing, creative nature of reality?!
"We conclude then, that the opposing and contradictory motions are the rule throughout the universe, and this is an essential aspect of the very mode of things."
The Essential David Bohm, p. 29
"I'm suggesting that there is the possibility for the transformation of the nature of consciousness, both individually and collectively, and that whether this can be solved culturally and socially depends on dialogue."
The Essential David Bohm, p. 338
This was in 1989, folks!
Then I realized some pretty groovy music was on my yahoo! launchcast and it was New Orthophony by Stereolab.
Of course I had to look up orthophony to see if it meant anything to anyone, and found this:
Or·thoph·o·ny
n.
I really don't know what it all means (and am content holding the uncertainty along with "what I know"), but it feels very good! It involves life and possibilities. So much fun!
I'll keep you posted, hehe.

Well give me ornithology over orthohony any day of the week.Doesn't matter how articulate you get, you'll never beat the song of a bird.
You know this stuff would and does go over ones head if it's taken in any way other than as an invitation to self exploration. And it is that way whether the “protagonist” intended it or not. That's all it ever is.
Nice post Kari!
Thanks!
Kari,
Dear wise sistah, Kari, You continue to feed my mind with your posts. Thank you!
I enjoyed your reading your thought-provoking comments and I also enjoyed being turned onto Daniel Pinchbeck, who I had never heard of. The Pop Occulture interview was fascinating and I resonated with several of his beliefs based on my own experiences.
The rest I don’t know enough to know, so I rest in what i know and do not know while slowly evolving to know that there is ever soooo much more that I do not know.
But at least I know that I don’t know.
I’m sorry- I didn’t mean that to get soo far into dada land
Ciao,bella articulata

Hey Kari,
Nice to read your post…soooo - Orthophony, wasn't there some stuff in 2012 about toning and the nature of creation? Maybe I'm confusing my books…I've read in many places though that the vibrations of sound carry the creative potential of the universe…In the beginning was the word and all that - just a thought.
I also was thinking about Barbara Marx Hubbard as I read this post. She mentions Pinchbeck in a radio interview she gave recently. Have you heard of her? Very renowned futurist thinker. The interview I heard her in, which I recommend is in the archives for free at www.worldpuja.org
I think you'd also like her book, Conscious Evolution. Thanks for the post.
See you soon,
Shannon
Great post Kari, love those 'synchronicities'…they pop up more a lot when there is certain amount of investigative mind going on it seems. I don't say this to give an ideal to shoot for, just an observation of 'life'. ;^)
Peace…
