Kari : Allower Thought is Intelligent!

Thought is Intelligent!

Posted on Feb 16th, 2006 by Kari : Allower Kari

I have been learning what it means to experience thought without identifying with it so much. I have a respect for thought now. Before people had said, it is just conditioning, it is nearly all repetitive, it pulls us out of Being. That didn't feel quite true though. It just wants attention. It wants to exist. It comes from true divine intelligence and is talented. It is scared. Not an enemy. Try welcoming it and see what happens.

As the troublesome thoughts in your mind are witnessed, they begin to dissolve and are replaced by a sense of stillness and peace which deepens. In fact, there is no end to its depth. You will also feel a subtle emanation of joy arising from deep within: the joy of Being. expressed by Eckhart Tolle

And Thought is Beautiful!

Kari said:I have a respect for thought now.”

That’s great stuff Kari.I know exactly what you mean.Lao Tzu said:

“Stop thinking, and end your problems”

I prefer to say:

“Stop judging, and end your problems”

But even that statement isn’t set in stone. And to Lao Tzu’s credit, I think he was referring to limiting thinking rather than the highest thoughts.Whether I embrace such concepts as the tao, buy into states of mind or even develop positive beliefs, still beyond that new things always form.Thought is always changing, wanting to better itself. In fact I think that thought is the highest thing, beyond emotions, stock thoughts (as you pointed out), any beliefs, and any states of mind.
It’s about having a higher sense of perspective.

It is imperative that we never lose our ability to connect with our highest thoughts.
If only a few of us do this, we will prevail.

hehe Kari, thanks for providing a blog where I can express what I am passionate about ;)

Hey, also check out this thread and read Prodigal Son’s post: Noone Can Hurt You

PS: Don’t believe a word I say :D

I think there exists a difference betwwen thought and thinking…or at least I thought I did.

Thinking to me implies action by me interpreting, using senses and past discrimnatory memories and applying them to thought….while thought, not as in I thought, but as in I had this thought.. accessing source…

thoughts?

“I” “think” (?!) “you” are on to something… a thought is something (is it really though?), like any form that arises and dissolves…thinking is what the mind (which doesn’t exist last time i checked) does…yet it comes from intelligence, like every”thing” else in the world.

phew, what a difficult topic!

I was just thinking about it, and then I had a thought -> Use it! It’s power! all these neuronets are saying:

“hey mister/lady, do ya think I try so hard getting from way back there in the subconscious, pushing through all these cells and past the corpus collosus, squeezing my way into your tiny conscious awareness, just so you can go ahead and ignore me? I mean, WHAT! do you take me for.I came all this way for a reason, so USE me will ya!”

hehe.

So it’s like my higher thought was saying, when you’re thinking, use the first thoughts. When you dwell on things, you’re discarding these magic things which are here to serve you. You’re dawdling until you get fed up and conclude “I’ve been thinking so long, and nothing has happened.Thinking doesn’t work.”
You’re right, thinking doesn’t work unless it becomes thought.

Its like having to go ten paces to reach your destination. The first step is thinking. And then you stop there, and then sit and ponder and think on why you haven’t reached your destination. The next step is thought. Now most of us are brave, and we’ll contemplate having thoughts. The problem is that that never solved anything. You have to actually take the next step ;)

Wasn’t it Edison who used to say he had tiny little helpers in his brain, working away delivering ideas to him.Maybe the only difference between him and everyday people is that he used what he got given.Seems a simple enough practice, yet I believe the difference it makes is quite literally worlds apart.
What are the other steps? well thats a mystery you have to embrace, so start walking. As Edison said: ”We don’t know one millionth of one percent about anything.”

I remember beign a really fussy eater and not wanting to eat my dinner as a kid, and my mum would say:

“you’ll eat what you get given”

Perhaps we should just grow up and use what we get given.

“Accessing source” yes wil, spot on.That’s what I was trying to get at.Thanks for sharing your wonderful thoughts to this conversation.Blessed.

I was just reading some VH (always so uplifting) and was reminded of this thread. These are taken from the Superwisdom site, and I think they are pertinent to this discussion:

Q: How can we recognize and remain on the right path?

A: Imagine yourself hiking a forest trail with the aim of reaching the peak of a distant mountain. Coming to many forks along the trail, you don’t know which way to turn. This is not a severe problem as long as you maintain your wish for the mountain. See why? Your clear goal enables you to recognize the wrong path, for you see how it takes you away from the mountain, not toward it. Loyalty to your lofty aim is your corrective guide.

Q: How can we experience higher power?

A: You are not condemned for anything but you are also not excused from anything. See these two ideas together at the same time and a powerful third force for self-awakening is created.

Q: Why do we fail to understand answers to our question?

A: The true answer to a question resides on a higher level than the question. Therefore a sincere person asking a question should not expect the answer to be immediately clear to him. He should not be discouraged by his lack of comprehension, but should patiently lift his consciousness up to the level of the answer. When an insincere person hears a true answer he gains nothing, for he instantly and fearfully distorts it to fit his own egotistical illusions.

- Vernon Howard

- and so on.Check it all out, it’s superb.Kari, I just know from this discussion, that if you haven’t read Vernon Howard already, you will surely love doing so.The guy is amazing!

Cheers!

I like this one: To understand where you must not look for answers is superb progress in itself. This means you must attain healthy disillusionment. Start by being disillusioned with glittering but empty social schemes for human betterment.

This reminds me of learning of the self by learning what I am not…neti neti….can occur inmeditation or whenever one is inquiring in to the true nature of a so-called thought, person, thing, etc…not this, not this. Since you can’t describe the indescribable, we can describe what we are not….

Which seems to reiterate what you were saying earlier flex-about higher thoughts. It the thoughts aren’t limiting, then there isn’t a need to discard them. These higher, non-limiting thoughts can act as possible pointers to the Source, the Self, Being, God, Consciousness, etc….

Yes.This discussion ties in well with the discussion we’re having at my blog.Like I said in the other blog, I think we should grasp! these opportunities when they come along.Through personal experience, I have found that by discarding these ‘moments’ by dwelling on them, then they’re wasted. And I have found that if I had taken these opportunities, they would have changed my life for the better. That’s real!
To be honest connversing is nice but going around in circles like fish in a bowl (no offence :D ) and continue to have these discussions for the sake of having them, over and over is pointless in itself.I get the feeling that you’re the same, so I’m sure you know what I mean.

So yes, I say these things because they have tangible results.Your life is the ultimate acid test. How I used to be, going over things too much in my head, did not serve me.I only had to look at my life and realise that it wasn’t what I wanted. So yep, go that extra step now and then look at your life again.Has it changed for the better?

Only then will you truly know.
